If I ever needed proof that I’m living in some kind of chaotic circus, this back-to-school season is it. Juggling three kids—ages 16, 13, and 5—has been like herding caffeinated squirrels, but hey, who needs sleep when you can run on stress and caffeine?
First, there’s my 16-year-old, who’s got a beauty routine more complex than a NASA launch sequence. I swear, getting her out the door in the morning requires military precision. Then there’s my 13-year-old, who’s somehow managed to master the art of eye-rolling while demanding I buy every last item from her never-ending school supply list. And let’s not forget the 5-year-old, who insists on being a mini version of her older sisters, complete with her own list of demands, because why not?
Am I exhausted? Absolutely. But here’s the kicker—I’m loving every damn minute of it. Somewhere in between all the chaos, the arguments over which shoes are the “right ones,” and the existential crisis over forgotten lunch money, I’ve been inching closer to smashing those personal goals I set for myself this year.
So, while I might look like I’m one breakdown away from selling my soul for a nap, I’m actually thriving. Crazy, right?
